What to see and to do in the Drôme Provençale?

Within a short distance of our charming guest house, you will discover lots of small villages, colourful markets, adorable little churchs and breathtaking sceneries, not only in Drôme Provençale but also in Ardèche, the nearby province.

In the immediate vicinity

Depending on your preferences, we suggest exploring the surrounding area : the village of Grignan and its castle dating from the 12th century, occupied, among others, by the Marquise de Sévigné, La Garde-Adhémar, Mirmande and Nyons with its unmissable Thursday morning market, Saint-Paul-Trois-Châteaux, Montélimar and its shops dedicated to nougat, leisure base around a lake, Pierrelatte and the Pignedoré lake, Saint Montan and Aiguèze, the vibrant Provençal markets in summer, the Aiguebelle Monastery, the crocodile farm, the Crest Tower, the Château de Suze-la-Rousse, the Valdaine golf course, or simply a stroll along the cliff overlooking the Rhône River, right behind our property! The Rhône is ever-present and inseparable from the valley.
Donzère, its ramparts, its museum, the Beauvert mill dating from 1570 and fully restored to its original state, its summer open-air cafes, the Robinet bridge linking the Drôme and Ardèche banks dating from 1847 and listed as a historical monument
The Drôme region also offers the chance to discover local products: nougat, olive oil, truffles, goat cheese, lavender, Clairette de Die sparkling wine, garlic, Aiguebelle syrup, and of course, the legendary Côtes-du-Rhône wines.
In the region

But we're also just an hour from Avignon, Uzès, and L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, a haven for antique dealers. Since 2015, a replica of the Chauvet Cave has been open near Vallon-Pont-d'Arc in the Ardèche Gorges. A little further afield, Gordes, Lacoste, and Lourmarin offer you the gateway to the Luberon region, should you wish to explore further. Aix-en-Provence, with its Cours Mirabeau, colorful alleyways, and numerous beautifully presented shops, is also within easy reach. Marseille, with its Calanques, Notre-Dame de la Garde basilica, Old Port, and distinctive accents, is less than a two-hour drive away.
